Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner came clean today and showed off his latest fetish: a Golden Shower. Paid with taxpayer’s money, Mayor Finkbeiner will be able to rinse away all the filth that he is exposed to in his daily workout as Mayor of Toledo.

Apparently the shower must be made of gold. How else could it cost nearly $10,000? We must presume it has golden fixtures, knobs, etc. or that it sends forth a golden stream to bathe the mayor in a warm calming rain that refreshes and inspires him. If it doesn’t perform this miracle taxpayers should demand a refund. Actually in the linked story, there is a picture of Carty’s Golden Shower. Please not the gold trim!

The Blade has been complaining for years that downtown Toledo doesn’t have a gym to workout in. This seems to be Carty’s solution to the lack of a bath house that he and the Blade’s editors get together, work up a sweat and shower up afterwards, all while power broking the next big deal for Toledo.

Thanks to Marcy Kaptur, Toledo has seemingly become welcome training grounds for terrorists. It is Congress woman Marcy Kaptur who endorsed Osama Bin Laden and praised him and his followers. Ms. Kaptur absurdly compared Osama, the Taliban, and Al Qaeda to the Green Mountain Boys of the American Revolution.

Thanks to this kind of comfort and support Toledo again finds itself embarrassed by it’s so called leadership. The good news is that it was the Muslim community of Toledo that turned in the suspects. Too bad the Toledo voters don’t see the clear and present danger that Marcy Kaptur represents to Toledo and the United States.

Perhaps it was just an attempt to “upgrade” Toledo politics to Chicago style corruption, but it seems that Democrat Bob McCloskey feels that it is just fine to try extorting money. Maybe that’s how would be racketeers and union thugs do “business” but Bob shouldn’t be trying to steal money from kids just to buy drugs for their grandparents.

Bob claims he wanted to “help” fund a charter school by bilking Pilkington of $100,000 that was intended for building a charter school. That is “help” in the sense that Bob would throw his support toward a zoning change in order for the school to be built. McCloskey intended to divert this money and buy drugs. This smells like the proverbial Mafia protection rackets that would muscle small businesses into paying protection money that would go to a so called “Widows Fund”.
